Why only exercises are not enough for weight loss?

Physical exercises are not always enough to lose weight. There is a scientific explanation which helps us understand why this happens: our bodies adapt to the higher levels of physical activity, which does not necessary mean they burn additional calories even when exercises are practiced on a regular basis.

The results from conducted surveys show that it is time to reconsider the effect of physical activity on our daily energy needs. They also remind about the importance of an adequate nutrition plan, alongside exercises, in achieving weight loss.

“Exercises are really important for your health” says Herman Pontzer from the City University of New York. “That's the first thing I mention to anyone asking about the implications of this work for exercise. There is tons of evidence that exercise is important for keeping our bodies and minds healthy, and this work does nothing to change that message. What our work adds is that we also need to focus on diet, particularly when it comes to managing our weight and preventing or reversing unhealthy weight gain.”

People who follow standardized programs, in order to lose weight, often see decrease in weight loss (and even regaining of weight) after few months. Large surveys also show that people with a highly active lifestyle have similar daily energy needs compared to people who are less active.

This is the reason why My Body Creator combines a personalized 12 week workout program with a personalized nutrition plan and controlled available sleep time.  This is the only way to ensure optimal effectiveness in achieving the desired goals.
